CMI Signed Up with Performance Advantage to
Implement Navision ERP Software
After a long delay in the process of selecting the best ERP package to
address the needs of CMI, the ERP Evaluation Team finally recommended the
purchase of the
Navision Attain software. The choice was largely influenced by
the strong image of the company behind the software, although it had just
started marketing in the Philippines in 2002. CMI's belief in the strength
of it's people also contributed to the choice since Navision allows access
to its source code. This got the IT department excited about the
practically unlimited possibilities that the software offers to the
development team without giving concern to the inherent problems that other
software packages encounter during major upgrades to local installations
where customization are extensively done. The following criteria were used
to screen the softwares that were shortlisted before finally arriving at
Navision Attain.
- Underlying technology
- Customer base
- Stable code
- Good customization capabilities
- Broad range of modules
- Ease of use
Due to the arrival of
the peak season for the company's deliveries, the implementation project
will be done in two phases. The following functional areas of the business
will be initially addressed in the first phase:
- General ledger
- Cash Manger
- Sales and
Receivables
- CRM
- Purchase and
Payable
- Inventory
- Fixed Assets
- Basic Manufacturing
- Agile Manufacturing
- Supply Chain
The second phase is more of a forward looking
thing when the company anticipates that the business will grow more because
of the efficiency that the ERP is envisioned to produce. Areas that will be
addressed then are:
- Bank reconciliation
- Human Resources
- Capacity Planning
- Machine Centers
- System Management (in-house)
The project has the full support of the top management and the
implementation period is expected to last within 2002.
